My soul finds rest in God alone;
my salvation comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
The part about God alone being my rock was what stood out to me. Not my husband, Andy, not my Dad, not my church that has been there for over a hundred years, no, God alone is my rock. He is where I can rest secure. Isn't that a comforting thought?
These next verses are so good also-
My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.
Our son took this picture when we were in Colorado a couple weeks ago. It's definitely a mighty rock! That's what God is for us, a mighty rock, a place of refuge, and not only that, but we can pour out our hearts to him! He cares for us! The Psalm ends like this-
One thing God has spoken, two things have I heard:
that you, O God, are strong,
and that you, O Lord, are loving.
Strong and loving- I'm so glad we have such a great God!!
