Listening to the news these days, it sure seems like the world's falling apart.
All this terrorism, the racial strife, the political conflict- it's crazy.
We have to keep the bigger picture in mind, or else we will go crazy with worry.
I have been reading the book of Daniel in the Bible lately, and there's a lot of prophecy in that book. There's the statue and the beasts that show the future kingdoms of the world, and how they will rise and fall. But at the end, there is always this good news---
In my vision at night I looked,
and there before me was one like a son of man,
coming with the clouds of heaven.
He approached the Ancient of Days
and was led into his presence.
He was given authority, glory, and sovereign power;
all peoples, nations and men of every language
worshiped him.
His dominion is an everlasting dominion
that will not pass away,
and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.
Daniel 7:13-14
Can you imagine what it will be like to have Jesus as King?
How wonderful it will be to have every law be just.
Truth will be truth, and we will be able to completely trust our leader.
We will not have to worry about hidden agendas, or desire
for personal profit, or the corruption of power in our ruler.
It will be so nice!
So, what do we do while we wait?
Be Strong in the Lord
Be strong in the Lord, and be of good courage;
Your mighty Defender is always the same.
Mount up with wings, as the eagle ascending;
Victory is sure when you call on His name.
So put on the armor the Lord has provided,
And place your defense in His unfailing care.
Trust Him for He will be with you in battle,
Lighting your path to avoid every snare.
Be strong in the Lord, and be of good courage;
Your mighty Commander will vanquish the foe.
Fear not the battle for the victory is always His;
He will protect you wherever you go.
Be strong, be strong, be strong in the Lord;
And be of good courage, for He is your guide.
Be strong, be strong, be strong in the Lord;
And rejoice for the victory is yours.
